Quitting Drinking When Enough Is Enough
As many of you know, I basically write articles and hubs on alcohol addiction and ways that may help someone find their sobriety as I did. I write these hubs in hopes that they will give someone that has an addiction problem, whether it be drugs or alcohol, a reason to change their life around. I write to tell all those addicted to never give up hope and ask for the help they need to start to live the life they desire.
Quitting drinking when enough is enough is really the big question here. When do you, if ever think enough is enough? Are you tired of the same old routine in your life, day in and day out?
Over one year ago is when I finally just raised my arms in the air to the Heavens and said, " I quit drinking I've had enough."
Sometimes it may take something horrible to happen in ones life for them to realize enough is enough, but than again something may happen horrible to the alcoholic and when all passes over and everything is back to so called normal, the alcoholic continues were he/she left off.

When Is It Enough
When is it enough is the question you should ask yourself. Think about your life and how you are living it with your families. Are you satisfied with the way things are going in your life, your family and your spouses lives?
Sometimes when someone is addicted to alcohol they tend to not see what is going on around them. The words I use is they are blinded to the outside world and everything around them, except what's running their life, which is their addiction.
When you are so into your addiction these things I spoke of seem out of reach to some and then there are those that can drink alcohol and still focus on their family life. Either way, to be able to stop drinking alcohol and finally tell yourself you have had enough and you need to quit drinking is a huge thing in the alcoholics life.
To be so addicted and have your addiction be a part of your everyday life and just to say you have had enough and surrender to your addiction may sadden you. It may feel as if you are losing your best friend, and in some cases this would be true as in my case over one year ago.
But guess what, addiction is not your friend. The alcohol demons can and will do the following and anyone who allows it to happen:
- Alcohol will sooner or later bring you to rock bottom.
- Alcohol can destroy a relationship.
- Alcohol will break up families.
- Alcohol will help in financial hardship.
- Alcohol causes many of health related problems and death.
- Alcohol brings on depression.
- Alcohol will break up marriages.
- Alcohol will cause many disagreements and fights.
- Alcohol will contribute towards thousands of auto accidents and deaths by auto.
- Alcohol will make your think incorrectly and do things you may not consider doing being sober.
- Alcohol will sometimes cause you to lose your job.
So all said, I really can't see ONE DARN good thing about drinking alcohol and I'm sure there are many more reasons that alcohol helps in destroying things.
These things mentioned should put a little light on the subject of when you think enough is enough and you should consider quitting drinking alcohol.
Don't Let Your Demons Defeat You!
Positive Attitudes
So Here Is the Bottom Line
The bottom line here is if you think to yourself that you have an addiction to alcohol and you finally have admitted it and surrendered to it, then that's a foot in the right direction.
Anyone can achieve sobriety if you truly want it in your life. Sure it will take some real hard work and determination, but it will be worth every bit and more when you finally let those demons go.
No matter what the severity is in your addiction, anyone can be cured and helped if and only if YOU want it to happen. Never give up and never let anything or anyone stand in your way of you finding your sobriety and start to live a clean and sober life again.
Stay focused on your quest to become sober. Stay Positive every moment of the day. Don't cut yourself short and believe in yourself and that you can and will beat this addiction you have.
What I had learned on my road to recovery is that by me keeping that Positive Attitude, Believing in myself and Believing in our God all combined together are the main tools in finding your sobriety, if and only if you really want to change. Change in your life and life style are very important. You must want it and if you Believe you will Achieve!
God Bless all those that are struggling with an addiction.
