How Bad Do You Want To Live
Life Being Sober
How bad do you want to live is the question we must ask ourselves if we are addicted to alcohol.
- How bad do want to live a healthy life?
- How bad do you want a great relationship with your spouse?
- How bad do you want to see your children be born?
- How bad do you want to see your children grow and become adults?
- How bad do you want to see your son or daughter get married?
- How bad do you want to see your grandchildren be born?
- How bad do you want to see your grandchildren grow up and become adults?
- How bad do you want to be clean and sober?
- How bad do you want to change your life for the better?
- How bad do you want a better life for you and your family?
If you are someone that is addicted to alcohol, then these are a few question you should ask yourself while you are tilting back the bottle or cracking open that can of beer. By answering these simple questions truthfully and honestly it should help you realize that by drinking and or abusing alcohol you will indeed shorten your life span by years and all those things mentioned above you may miss out on if something is not done to correct your addiction to alcohol.
As I have written in many articles and hubs, I have nothing against drinking alcohol, if it is done responsibly and not abusing it. Having a nice drink, fine wine or a beer before dinner or just to be social in a outing with family and friends is perfectly fine. The problem with the alcoholic and with my own self is that we do not know when enough is enough. We don't know how to say i have had enough. We are not responsible drinkers, we are abusers and alcoholics.
It may seem to some that I am yelling through my writing, but in fact, I am crying. I am crying for the simple reason, that I write these article to try and make alcoholics realize that there is hope and a sober life waiting for each and everyone of you. All you have to do is have the willingness, the desire , a positive attitude and the determination to quit drinking alcohol.
If you have all these things there is one more thing that you should do if you truly want to have sobriety back into your life and that is, Ask For Help!
I know what an addiction of alcohol can do to your body and your family. Having an alcohoic living in a family puts everyone on edge and the family suffers more than the alcoholic thinks. They want you to get clean and sober, but they also know that you may not be ready for sobriety just yet. Yep, that was me for sure. I live in my world of denial and never thought for a moment that i was harming myself or my family. I thought I was doing no wrong and boy was I ever wrong about that.
Now sober, I look back at all those days and nights of drinking alcohol and some of the harsh things said while being drunk, it makes me sick as I think of it now.
I truly think that an alcoholic thinks if they were sober that life wouldn't be the same and yes, they are correct, it would not be the same, it would be a million times better. Living life sober is nothing to be a shamed of. I thought that anyone that was sober were no fun at all. Those people were square or a bunch of duds. Now being clean and sober myself I know look at the people that do drink alcohol and hope and pray they don't abuse it and wind up being addicted as I was and millions of other people all over the world are.
So, just take a minute and go over the above mentioned question one more time and ask that question to yourself, just how bad do you want to live and when you answer it, then do something about it.
Remember, it is never too late to change your life for the better. Your body will thank you for giving it a second chance at life and believe me you will hold your head high with pride that you have overcome an addiction you thought would never happen.
