How Alcohol Can Ruin Your Life
You may wonder just how alcohol can ruin your life and I am here to tell you it is almost 100 percent sure to destroy you and your family if you let it happen. The alcoholic has no control over the demons within them, so they may think.
I'm here to tell you that any alcoholic can control and stop their alcohol addiction only if they truly want to stop drinking alcohol.
You must have a strong desire to quit drinking alcohol, and without that determination and strong desire, no rehab. center, no family member will ever be able to help you. They may and will try their hardest to get you clean and sober, but once out of rehab. more than likely you will relapse and ruin all the hard work you did for the time you were in the rehab center all because you never had the desire to stop drinking in the first place. You were just not ready to surrender to your addiction at that present time in your life.
This is what I mean about without wanting to stop drinking alcohol and changing you life. Without wanting to change there is unfortunately no sobriety in your future. Sobriety will not just come to you. You must surrender to your addiction and go after sobriety and once you have found it you must stay with it forever.
Clean and sober will be our new lives, as it is for me now. I needed to surrender to my alcohol addiction and make a promised to myself that I would never be able to pick up a glass or tilt that bottle of alcohol again for the rest of my life.
Once I was fine with that promise to myself, I then put alcoholism and my addiction behind me forever. Sure it was tough in the beginning, but as time went by, each and everyday became easier to deal with the absence of alcohol in my body.
So How Did We Get To This Stage In Our Lives ?
I'm speaking for myself, but I'm sure this will ring a bell to many others. It all started out by a small experiment with tasting alcohol for the first time. Some people took a liking to the taste of alcohol and others were completely turned off forever and never would touch alcohol again.
Those that took a liking to alcohol, like myself, drank it again and then started to enjoy the feeling that alcohol gave us (me) which in turn we (I) began to drink more of it. We may have realized and found that alcohol helped take some of the pain we might have been suffering in our lives and eased it somewhat.
We thought alcohol might be the answer to our problems and a way to feel better, easing any pain or problems we might have in our lives, but believe me, it is NOT the answer to any problems, it is the start of many more problems yet to come. The problem arises when alcohol starts to become an everyday habit, and then, we start to abuse the alcohol that we first started out trying as an experiment, or we were just curious of what alcohol was all about and it's effects of it.
By doing so and continuing to drink alcohol our bodies start to get a tolerance to want we have been drinking and the amount we have been drinking, so now, our bodies require more alcohol to get that feeling of that first drunk we had weeks or months ago.
By going down this path we have gone from experimenting, to a habit, to abuse, to needed alcohol each and everyday, to being full blown alcoholic and addicted to alcohol. Then we wonder how could this have happened? How could I be this addicted to alcohol and never saw it coming. This is exactly what I went through and I have to tell you that alcohol and it's addicted behavior sneaks up on us without warning. Slow but sure our inner demons begin to take over and destroy our lives, and like I said before ONLY if you let them destroy you.
You and I must be stronger than them and learn to say NO or I have had enough. There is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol if and only if you do it responsibly and know when enough is enough.
This happened to me because I let my inner demons take control of my mind and body and believe me, when those demons take over you it will take a very strong and determined person to get rid of them and surrender to your addiction.
So to close, don't let alcoholism ruin your life or your families life. Think before you take that drink and don't let your alcohol demons take over. Put them in their place before they find a place that you never want to be in.
If you are addicted to alcohol and want to change you life around and become clean and sober, then you must take action on the action you are doing to yourself and family.
Start and continue forever to have a positive attitude and believe in yourself that you can overcome this addicted life you now lead.
I did it, and I never thought in a million years it would be possible, but I proved myself wrong and I did find my sobriety and it was the best thing that could ever happen to me and my family. Now we are all living the clean life and enjoying each beautiful day that comes our way.
