Overcoming Alcohol Addiction
Overcoming Your Addiction
Many people wish so bad to be able to overcome one thing in their lives, but many of times they fear of making that change in their life.
Things like overcoming your fears can be mostly done by really continuing to try the one thing or things that fear you the most over and over until you win over your fears.
Overcoming alcohol addiction is totally opposite in trying and trying to beat the addiction. You can't keep trying, for the simple reason it has be done with a one shot deal. You must make up your mind for once and for all that you want to surrender to your alcohol addiction.
When I mentioned a one shot deal, it means either you want to quit drinking or your don't. The answer lies within the alcoholic. If you feel that you will try, and if doesn't work, you will drink for a little while longer and try again. I know of people that have tried this method and believe me it doesn't work at all. It just prolongs the road to sobriety and allows the alcoholic more reason to drink, because he/she says to themselves they have tried, but it didn't work and it makes their quilt feeling of drinking alcohol be relieved for that moment in time.
Say Goodbye To Your Addiction
Always Believe In Yourself
Tell Yourself You Can Do It
Alcohol addiction is a truly difficult addiction to break, but only if you allow it to be. Tell yourself that you can do it and don't ever give up on your quest to sobriety.
I have learned that living with a positive attitude can be such a huge help, not only with overcoming an addiction, but anything we do in life as well.
Finding sobriety is like finding gold in the mines or striking a massive amount of oil out in the fields. The payoff is huge and your life will change in a heart beat.
People go out and search for gold and oil hoping to make their lives better, so if the alcoholic could go out and search to find sobriety, their lives will change forever as well.
You must believe in yourself and tell yourself that you can do anything you wish for, including quitting drinking. BELIEVE AND YOU ACHIEVE!
Just take a look at the picture of the little boy sitting on a basketball looking up at a 10 foot tall basketball hoop. What do you think he is saying to himself? He is saying, "I can get this basketball into that hoop, I know I can".
This is exactly what the alcoholic must say to themselves when they have decided to quit drinking alcohol.
How to stop drinking alcohol is very simple, you just surrender and quit, it is just that simple. If you make up your mind to surrender and you have promised yourself never to be able to pick up a drink again, then you are on the road to finding, achieving and having forever your sobriety.
Sure, it is going to take a lot of work, discipline, positivity, willingness and desire to quit drinking, but nothing comes easy in life as we all know. You work hard and the payoff is enormous.
Making That Promise
Making a promise to yourself to never pick up a drink again for the rest of your life is a huge promise to make, especially to yourself.
Many of us are not willing to make such a promise and these people are the people that will never achieve long term sobriety. They might quit drinking alcohol for a little while and when they think to themselves, "see I can quit anytime I wish" then they are right back to the bottle.
At this rate they will be back in forth, or on and off the wagon for the rest of their lives and not winning the game that their demons are playing with them.
You MUST NOT let these inner demons take control of you bodies and minds, because by you being weak and not having the true desire to quit drinking alcohol and wanting a better life for yourself and your family the demons will always win at their game they are playing with you.

SAY THIS
DON'T BE THIS
Achieve Sobriety Or Die - It's Your Choice
I know that saying achieve sobriety or die is kind of a harsh statement, but I have to put it this way in order to make a strong point to those that have second thoughts of quitting drinking and finding their sobriety.
If you are addicted to alcohol so bad that you must drink everyday of the week without a days break, then you are well on your way to an early grave. I'm sure no one wants that to look forward to in their lives. If you are one of those people, just take a good look around you and see who you may be hurting besides yourself.
There are people in your life that love and care about you and what you are doing to your life, not to say what those people are going through as well because of your alcohol addiction.
Make life better for those who love and care about you and as you are doing that you are then helping yourself to get away from those demons that lurk inside of you.
Be strong, be positive, be thankful for what you have in life, and don't throw it all away because of an addiction that can be totally avoidable.
Don't ever be afraid to ask for help. There are so many Rehab. Centers all over the world that can help you achieve your sobriety and along with them, your families, your friends and your willpower, strength and desire to quit drinking, you have a great handle on your new sober life ahead of you.
I can say this about alcohol addiction, and that is, it's not as powerful as people say. You have far more power within you to overcome this addiction and start a new life. Tell yourself that you can and will beat your addiction and live a clean and sober life again.
