Best Ways To Quit Drinking Alcohol And Live A Happy And Fulfilling Life
Having an addiction to alcohol can certainly put a huge damper on ones life. Drinking alcohol can be somewhat of a relaxing time only when drinking it responsibly, such as, a quiet romantic dinner with a little wine with your meal, or a celebration of any kind is just fine when you don't overdue your intake of alcohol.
This is were many people that are addicted to alcohol have a problem, The problem of not knowing when to quit drinking alcohol.
Through my experiences here are the best ways to quit drinking alcohol and live a happy and fulfilling life.
Wanting That New Sober Life
First of all, the alcoholic must want to quit drinking alcohol and be willing to do whatever it takes to become clean and sober. This is one of the most important, because if the alcoholic fights back and is not willing to make a change in his/her life, then they might be fighting a losing battle. If the alcoholic knows that his/her family and friends are 100 percent behind their decision to quit drinking this can be a huge step for the alcoholic, just knowing they have the support they need to become sober.
Secondly, if the alcoholic would only realize that there is happiness and fulfillment in lives that people live being clean and sober. The alcoholic may not think they can have any fun or excitement in life being sober. They are totally incorrect with thinking this way, in fact, I believe life has far more happiness and fulfillment without drinking alcohol.
If you are down in the dumps, depressed and just plain miserable the last thing you want to do is to drink alcohol and get more depressed with each and every drink you take.
Drinking alcohol to flush away our everyday problems or worries is not the answer, it simply makes things far worse than they are. But, the alcoholic thinks differently. They think by drinking alcohol will correct or possibly change something from bad to good, and in fact it is just the opposite, alcohol makes good thing go bad and you can count on that.
Living Life Alcohol Free
There are so many great things in life you can enjoy being clean and sober and not carrying around that crutch thinking by drinking is the best fun any one can have. Many people that are addicted to alcohol have in their minds that they will never be able to have fun being sober. They think you must be drunk or buzzed in order to have any fun or excitement in life. I can relate to that statement because there was a time that I thought drinking was the only way to have fun and I needed to carry that crutch were ever I went, like a security blanket, if you will.
Anyone that is true to them self and thinks highly of them self should take that moment out of their busy day and look into your life and see where you will be headed if you continue to drink alcohol.
I thought over a year ago that it would be totally impossible for me to quit drinking alcohol and boy did I fool myself. I did it and darn proud of it, and ever since, my life is on the rise to the top with no stopping in site.
You too can do the same. All you need is the willingness, desire, determination and the strength to call it quits and surrender to those demons who are running and ruining your life as well as possibly others that may love and care for your.
